2021 Christmas Appeal – BWA Afghanistan Crisis
Our Christmas Appeal for 2021 is to raise funds in support of the Afghanistan Crisis. Decades of a refugee crisis have resulted in nearly six million Afghans forcibly displaced from their homes. TheTaliban’s recent takeover of the government has severely compounded the crisis., forcing hundreds of thousands to flee from their homes and tens of thousands in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. Baptist World Aids response is to meet the immediate needs of displaced families in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Our local Christian partners are poised to provide critically needed emergency supplies including monthly food aid, blankets, mattresses and plastic sheets for winter protection.
390.000+ people displaced since May 2021
80% are women and children – the majority of those fleeing are the most vulnerable and at risk.
Covid 19 has compounded the crisis by overwhelming the already fragile health system.
Please prayerfully consider what you might be able to give to help this crucial work.
Today our story is Jesus Comforts His Disciples from John 14:1-14. During May we’ll be looking at some of the words and stories Jesus shared with his disciples before leaving earth (physically) and sending his Spirit.
Check out Carmen’s Video above for all the instructions to make a ‘Father’s House’ craft.

Here are two videos about a boy called Noeh who’s community is rebuilding their lives and church in Iraq. Note for parents of young children: The videos shows buildings which have been destroyed, but there is no violence. You may need to read the subtitles for your kids.
