John Chapter 12 Verses 1-8

Explore the Story

Each gospel has a different account of a woman anointing Jesus by pouring perfume on Jesus. This appears to have happened on at least 2 occasions, as two different women – Mary of Bethany (Martha & Lazarus’ sister) and a “sinful woman” are mentioned. The perfume was poured on Jesus’ head or his feet. Children may notice some of these differences in the video and the bible passage.
Other accounts are: Matthew 26:6–13; Mark 14:3–9; Luke 7:36–50.
