When God reveals some of himself to the likes of Hannah, He reveals more than an incidental blessing…Hannah wasn’t only blessed with a son, but now saw more of who God was. After seeing the birth of her son, she then became aware of God’s authority to give life (1 Sam 2:6)…His authority to humble and exult people (verse 7)…His authorship of earth itself (verse 8).
It seems as Hannah saw just some of God, she sensed more than what she’d actually seen…and what she sensed made her heart sing. In chapter 1:15, we see her pouring out her soul to the Lord. As God then revealed Himself to her in her anguish, her heart somehow jumped to an informed conclusion – there was mercy in His eyes…He makes all things right…this was the King of Kings.
