2021 Christmas Appeal – BWA Afghanistan Crisis
Our Christmas Appeal for 2021 is to raise funds in support of the Afghanistan Crisis. Decades of a refugee crisis have resulted in nearly six million Afghans forcibly displaced from their homes. TheTaliban’s recent takeover of the government has severely compounded the crisis., forcing hundreds of thousands to flee from their homes and tens of thousands in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. Baptist World Aids response is to meet the immediate needs of displaced families in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Our local Christian partners are poised to provide critically needed emergency supplies including monthly food aid, blankets, mattresses and plastic sheets for winter protection.
390.000+ people displaced since May 2021
80% are women and children – the majority of those fleeing are the most vulnerable and at risk.
Covid 19 has compounded the crisis by overwhelming the already fragile health system.
Please prayerfully consider what you might be able to give to help this crucial work.

Worship through Prayer
At the start of July is NAIDOC week. A time to celebrate the achievements of Indigenous people in our community and to pray for reconciliation in our country.
Use the video above to pray for our country and our people.
Reconciliation is a big word! It’s about recognizing the first people who lived in Australia (the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) and how they were mistreated for many years. It is about finding new ways to learn from each and live together in harmony. God’s rules encourage us to love him and love each other. This is one way we can do that.
