On Thursday evening and Friday morning we reflected on the sacrifice Jesus made for us; the act of submitting himself to authorities and the will of the people, and the will of his father, to suffer a terrible death so that we can be forgiven and have new life in Him. This morning we celebrate with joy Jesus’ resurrection!! He conquered death and rose again so we might live. I have chosen songs that speak of what He went through, his great love for us and His amazing grace. The first three are well known so you can sing along with them in the privacy of your lounge room if you like. The 4th one is a new (ish) version of Because He Lives by Matt Mayer. It is a beautiful song that I would like us to keep singing when we are together again. The last song is from the album Music Inspired By the Story and is written from the view point of the apostles during Jesus’ capture, crucifixion and resurrection. It gives us an insight into what they would have seen and felt during this time. I hope these songs are helpful as we join together, but also apart, to rejoice in the goodness of God. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!
