Our Baptist World Aid Christmas Appeal is for a partner organisation in Cambodia called PNKS. It aims to improve the quality of life for villagers through better health, equity, food security, greater self-reliance & dignity and wise resource management. They have established 58 Village Development Associations. These are community-based groups with 875 members, who meet monthly to identify community problems and plan solutions.
In 2016, 27,982 people were helped: a farmer field school was set up; 174 families were helped to improve poultry & vegetable raising; 83 farmers received drip irrigation training; 20 families received fish farms & seeds; 23 people were trained in Peacebuilding (which our last year Christmas appeal supported).
