Senior Pastor, Carlingford Baptist Church
The Church
Carlingford Baptist Church is a cross-cultural worshiping community with a vision to be passionate disciples of Jesus Christ in a growing network of diverse but united communities on mission. Services are held in English, Mandarin and Korean with several combined services held throughout the year.
The Role
The church is seeking to appoint a part-time Senior Pastor to lead in the development of strategic plans to implement the vision God has given our church. These plans will help us engage with the changing demographics of both the church and the surrounding community.
They will provide overall spiritual leadership and direction, working closely with the multicultural staff team, equipping and supporting them in their areas of ministry, in collaboration with the Deacons and Ministry Council Coordinators. The Senior Pastor will have direct responsibility for the English-speaking congregation.
The church is seeking a person with the following qualities:
- Be a follower of Jesus who models Christian values and servant leadership
- Sets a Christ-like example in their spiritual and family life
- Be self-aware of their own strengths and weaknesses
- An Accredited Pastor or Recognised minister, or candidate, with the Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT (or equivalent)
- Has a minimum of 5 years’ ministry experience, preferably in a similar role
- Has some cross-cultural experience in a church or Christian organisation
- Proficient in English (spoken Mandarin and/or Korean would be useful but not essential)
