NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee.  NAIDOC Week 2018 is July 8 to 15 and is a time to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  The theme for 2018 is “Because of Her, We Can!”.  It “celebrates the essential role that women have played – and continue to play – as active and significant role models at the community, local, state and national levels” (https://www.naidoc.org.au/).
